Ingredients needed

  • 2 Cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • ½ Teaspoon of baking soda
  • ½ Teaspoon of salt
  • 1/3 Cup of butter, cut into small pieces
  • 2/3 Cup of milk
  • Optional: Extra ingredients such as cheese and herbs

Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
    1. Mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
    1. Add the butter and mix it with a fork until it resembles a coarse meal.
    1. Add the milk and stir until everything is evenly combined.
    1. Scoop out small amounts of the dough and roll them into around 1-inch (2.5 cm) balls and place them on a prepared baking sheet.
    1. Bake for 10 minutes or until golden.
    1. Let the biscuits cool before serving.

Cheesy Garlic Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons cold butter, diced
  • 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 2/3 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a baking sheet.

2. In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4. Add cheese, garlic, and parsley, stirring to mix well.

5. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Mix together quickly and lightly with a fork.

6. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly 8-10 times until it just comes together.

7. Pat or roll out dough to a 3/4 inch thickness. Cut out biscuits with a 2-inch biscuit cutter, re-rolling and cutting scraps as necessary.

  • 2/3 cup buttermilk

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a baking sheet.

3. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter or two knives until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

1. Preheat oven to 450°F.

2. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, sugar, butter, and salt.

3. Cut the butter into small cubes and add to the flour mixture; mix with a fork or a pastry blender until it resembles crumbs.

4. In a small bowl, dissolve the baking soda in the cold water and then pour it into the flour mixture.

5. Stir with a fork until a soft dough is formed.

6. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface, and knead gently until smooth.

7. Roll the dough to ¼-inch thickness and cut it into rounds using a biscuit cutter.

8. Place onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

9. Allow cooling for 5 minutes before serving.
